7 Reasons to stay at the Renaissance Hotel, Boca Raton

This past weekend we headed back to Boca Raton for a quick weekend getaway.  After staying in Deefield Beach a few weeks ago we decided to change locations.  Staying near the beach was not a priority on this trip. We wanted a hotel in Boca Raton with a nice pool and free WiFi. If you follow me on twitter, you’d know what happened last time.  😉

Visiting Lithia Springs

Normally during the summer months we attempt to visit a new beach on this side of our coast or at least make it to Anna Maria Island. This summer we knew we would be staying at the beach for our vacation, so instead we decided to visit Florida’s Springs.  Lithia Springs has been on our list ever since we moved to Plant City.  I’ve been waiting for Piper to get a little bigger so she wouldn’t be scared of the cold water.  In case you’ve never been, the water remains at 72 degrees all year long.  In other words, its freezing.  At least to me, they are…

Learning and Busch Gardens

Disclaimer: I was given four admission tickets by Busch Gardens, free of charge in exchange for this review through their partnership with MomCentral.  All opinions are mine based on my experience. I was not compensated monetarily for this review.

Visiting Busch Gardens was part of our “summer fun” bucket list.  We decided to go yesterday despite the light rain in the morning.  The weather forecast had indicated scattered showers, but really its August in Florida, which means afternoon showers are a given.  As we got closer to Tampa, the rain seemed to get a bit stronger, but we were determined and we were not turning around.   Once we got to the park, the rain had stopped and blue skies were all around us!  We decided to pay the extra $5 for preferred parking just in case we had to leave the park in a hurry due to inclement weather.  Coming to the park, I had not printed my tickets, so I went to the window and showed my email ticket confirmation to the attendant.  She instructed me to head directly to the entrance where the tickets could be scanned directly from my phone. I’m so used to having paper tickets, and then having to carry them all day.  I was very happy I wouldn’t have to do that today.

Vacationing in Deerfield Beach

After visiting Hawk’s Cay, we headed over to Deerfield Beach.  We decided to stay at the Embassy Suites because that’s where we had our Rehearsal dinner 10 years ago.  Plus we also like the extra space, being across the street from the beach, and the free hot breakfast every morning.

A Few of My Favorite Things: Key West

It’s that time of year when the market closes for two weeks and we flee Plant City. 😉  This year, we decided to stay semi-local by driving to the east coast for a few days.  First stop, Key West!  Living in South Florida, driving to the Keys was an easy get away for us.  But after having kids, it had been a while since we visited one of our favorite places: Key West.

We figured by now, the girls were old enough to be in the car for so long without it being to much of an ordeal.  They were really good troopers.  We made a pit stop in Fort Drum and Coral Springs before reaching Hawk’s Key, where we stayed.  The pit stop in Coral Springs was really so I could finally try Giraffas.  I’ve seen them come up on my twitter feed and their food look yummy every time.
